It looks like today is the day...

... that my Hubby and our 2 Sons Wayne and Gareth will find out if they have been made redundant or not and to be honest it isnt looking too good at the minute for any of us. Fingers crossed but we should know in the next few hours!

It is also our Son Gareth and his Wife Marie's 2nd Wedding Anniversary today so I want to wish them all the best, it will be an awful day for them if Gareth looses his job today

I am finding it hard to get into anything today but I shall have a look at my challenges in a bit to see if I can get something done to keep my mind off the situation.

On a brighter note I have this morning made the sample of my Grandson's Birthday invites, Marie decided that she wanted a post card type invite. I have done the first one and cut all the pieces and sent them off to Marie for her to put them all together just copying my design

In my post yesterday I stated he was going to be 2 but in fact he will only be 1, he is a bit of a cutie though dont you think?

Well I am off to try and find something to keep me occupied for the next few hours, I may be back later with something I have managed to put together

365 Cards - Day 55 - Card recipe

Day 55 on 365 cards and today we have a recipe to follow

Here's the recipe for this card:

5x5 card (solid colored card stock - may be smooth or textured)

4x4 patterned paper (you may alter the edges if you'd like)

1 shape (circle, square, star, heart, etc.) - must be solid color

3 jewels

alpha stickers

I also admit I did have a little help with the making of my card, meet my six and a half year old Granddaughter Lilly!

Lilly came to stop with me whilst her Mum and Dad went shopping just as I was starting to make this card so she agreed to help me make it, she pressed the buttons on the cricut and took the backs off all the 3D foam pads and even chose which jewels to put onto it, Thank you Lilly, I wouldn't have managed without you. xx

I used textured Black card for the 5" x 5"
I used some Gold and Cream Wedding PP which I edges using my Krylon pen
The heart was cut by Lilly on my Cricut put on with 3D foam pads and has 3 Ivory Pearls on it
The Alpha stickers are mounted onto 3D pads and spell the word 'Love'

Cupcake Craft Challenge #34 - Folds

This weeks challenge on Cupcake Crafts is to make something with more than 2 folds so I have made these blocks for my new Baby Grandson; Marshall who is just over 1 week old.

They were not the easiest thing to photograph I can tell you, the first picture shows the front with his name, the second photo shows the tops of the boxes with all the details of his birth and the third photo was taken to try and get a better picture of them all together.

I used a template and covered them with different papers, embellished them with buttons and thats about it really, simple to make

Sorry about the quality of the photo but I took this in poor light on my mobile phone, i am sure there will be better pictures to follow in the next few days.

'The Wall'...

As promised the other day; here are some pictures of the wall I am painting in my Grandson's bedroom, the room will eventually be shared by 2 boys, Morgan and Riley.





The photo on the left is as you can see the station with Thomas and the Fat Controller, the one on the right is the same wall just taken further back. The photo below is of the boards I did which sit below the picture for them to hang their school bags and dressing gowns on. The boards are MDF which have been coated in blackboard paint and the engines are 3D foam stickers that were bought in B&Q to go on their walls. I thought they would look a little lost so I persuaded my Son and DIL to let me paint the picture and do the baords for the boys.






As this is the longest wall in the room I am going to continue with James and Morgan's favourite Bertie the bus with Harold the helicopter flying above them all.


Not sure how long it will take me to finish this but hopefully not too long.
